Job Overview:

Elliott & Painter CPAs is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting and tax preparation. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information for our diverse clientele. You will collaborate with partners and other staff to deliver high-quality service and contribute to the firm’s growth and reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy of financial data.

  • Tax Preparation and Planning: Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities. Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients.

  • Client Management: Serve as the primary contact for assigned clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing strategic financial advice.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making processes.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations and client service delivery.

  • Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA designation strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm.

  • Strong accounting knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
