Job Overview:
Elliott & Painter CPAs is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting and tax preparation. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information for our diverse clientele. You will collaborate with partners and other staff to deliver high-quality service and contribute to the firm’s growth and reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy of financial data.
Tax Preparation and Planning: Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities. Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients.
Client Management: Serve as the primary contact for assigned clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing strategic financial advice.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations and client service delivery.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA designation strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm.
Strong accounting knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.
High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
